Time to Move on. Chignik Bay Adventures is in Good Hands!
Mary and I first want to express thanks to all our guests over the last 22 years, it has been a wonderful time filled with many exciting adventures and forming many great lifelong friendships. It is time for the next chapter in our lives and we move forward knowing that Chignik Bay Adventures is in great hands under the new ownership of Rick Miller.
I flew to Chignik in May and met Rick and his brother. We had a nice stretch of weather and good fishing. Rick has plans to infuse some new ideas into Chignik Bay Adventures which all sound great to me. The beauty and great fishing will continue to be accessible and available and I look forward to returning for visits.
Mary is recovering from Leukemia and doing very well. It has been a long, tough road that started in September 2022 after our return from Chignik. Her prognosis is excellent and we feel blessed to have good results after the arduous treatments. Life gets a little more normal every week and we are excited for our future adventures.
Thanks to all the fine folks of Chignik, we will miss being an active part of such a great community and the daily interactions and friendships we’ve enjoyed over all the years.
We send our gratitude and thanks to guests, friends and visitors that allowed us to live and enjoy one of the greatest places on earth.
Thank you to John and Mary
What a honor it is to be trusted with Chignik Bay Adventures. We know Chignik holds a special place in both of their hearts. We sincerely hope to have both John and Mary back in the Lodge and boats next year, but only to relax and enjoy the time in a place they love so much.
While we had to take a break from booking customers this year we have still been very busy planning for the future and building upon the great foundation John and Mary entrusted to us. And Yes catch a few great fish in the process including a 170 halibut brought in by Greg Miller guided by Mallory.
To give you a few teasers we have purchased a new 30′ Life Style 960 ocean cruiser, she is sitting in Anchorage along with two new Trucks waiting to come down on the Ferry in September ready for 2024. We are also working in the off season to build out a new fish processing and cold storage room at the Lodge. We are also adding many new features to help make traveling to and from Chignik a smooth and easy process.
Watch us on Facebook, YouTube and our new website that is currently being updated to go live in the near future for more details.
We look forward to seeing in the coming years.
